Following the concept of defamiliarization, the material lends itself from the existing brick wall in the context by inverting the motor into a structural wire mesh and solid brick into void glass brick. This project also challenges the traditional ground-condition by shearing the extruded volume of the site to create a minimum interacting with the ground. By doing this, it opens up the ground floor for technical functions, as well as creating a 1:12 ADA accessibility ramp to go up to the main room. This structure creates a morié effect for a public space. This giant room serves as a multipurpose room, where it becomes an “extension living room” for the community.
