Courtyards of 1920s residential blocks were aggregated over time; a lack of collective design has left them separated, broken, and unmaintained. A courtyard located on the project site is separated by property lines (fences) and elevation changes. This design explores the opportunity to redesign every courtyard in the city and views them as interiors of street blocks. It aims to transform broken courtyards into accessible public spaces. It proposes a network of these new public spaces with programs that fulfill local needs (movie theater, museum, recreation center, spa, etc.)
