The project breaks the block to bring the neighborhood in, and reconnects the tenants to create a sustainable community for four groups of tenants: children at risk, families, students and artists.

Starting with two bold diagonal cuts dividing the site, the project provides public spaces on the ground and accessibility to housing. By differentiating the ways of reconnecting, the project creates public spaces, by connecting bridges that reconnect four towers on different levels with programs like a cafe and gallery, and an elevated playground that serves as a safe public loop for children, along with diagonal semi-public stairs which void and link to public spaces. Moreover, single corridors and elevated courtyards provide better private experience and more public spaces.

The operating ETFE facade, composing a double skin system with curtain walls, provides private balconies for 1/3 of tenants. It serves for a safe, welcoming, affordable, and long-term sustainable home for the future.
