PLAYSCAPE +

The project will mainly function as a community learning center for both children and their parents. It will also be imbedded with social facilities such as clothing donations, immigration advice, laundry services, and seasonal gifting. Inspired by Isamu Noguchi, we are interested in creating a new typology that could foster imagination and offer thousands of possibilities to users. Starting from the notion of play, ‘non-prescription’, we try to give more definitions and possibilities to the most basic architectural elements such as floor, columns, and stairs for changing uses and experiences. The combination of ‘playscape’ and traditional typology enables learners to both learn and play at the highest efficiency.
