Research on forced migratory patterns in the wake of natural disasters lead to an investigation into collective memory, water, landscape, and forced migration across history in Cape Town. “Traces” explores how a divided neighborhood’s relationship to water might be re-scripted through the repurposing of colonial infrastructure, previously used to systematically govern the distribution of water.
