Mobile Retreat

This quarry operates with several interconnected systems, where an ecological effect produces a unique experience during residents’ stay, while they actively participate in restoring and stabilizing the quarry’s environment. In this retreat project, residency programs include farming, gardening, meditation, hiking, and living. The consequence of each activity helps to restore the site in a different way. Units are a series of deployable structures that are paired with landslide mitigation infrastructures, they can be taken off and reinstalled around the site, in order to gradually populate and restore the entire quarry.
