The proposal for a homestead school in Edgemere draws parallels to the evolution of its site as a result of the migration patterns and shifts in both demographical and urban landscapes. It adopts the theme of “Movement” as a spatial performance and a tool for community engagement. It attempts to explore these concepts of movement and procession through space and time as a series of connected and sequential events that form a narrative translated into spatial conditions. It acts as a social concentrator and empowers the community by engaging it and catering for its needs as an extension of current provision and beyond. It also draws reference from the amusement park movement as it provides a new spectacle that uses the element of education and play as means of drawing the community away from trauma.
