GSAPP Faculty on Housing – Big Ideas for Small Lots

Affordable housing is one of the greatest challenges across the United States, the Big Ideas for Small Lots NYC housing competition organized by the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the American Institute of Architects New York (AIANY) seeks to address this issue by gathering ideas for housing on small, underutilized lots owned by the City of New York. While five proposals moved on to the final round of the competition, hundreds of ideas and design intentions are going unseen and undiscussed. This event gathers Columbia GSAPP faculty to present their proposals for five minutes each in a Pecha Kucha style event, followed by a discussion moderated by Ada Tolla and Daisy Ames.
