In the evolution of the varied practices of Urban Design, one of the most intensively discussed questions has been the definition of the discipline itself: What is Urban Design? Rather than a concrete answer, this event explores the expanded field of Urban Design through the lens of people, who graduated from Columbia GSAPP’s Urban Design program in recent decades. Through their current work and a reflection on the ways in which their experience at GSAPP shaped their thinking about design, cities, and politics, the event will open a dialogue about what Urban Designers Do.
