Adjunct Assistant Professor

Stella Ioannidou is an artist, designer, and researcher based in New York and Athens. She works in-between and within the fields of visual experimentation, of architectural and urban research, of critical cartography, and of writing.

In her practice, Stella has been exploring ways in which to analyze and reflect on existing systems of governance, economy, infrastructure, focusing on the socio-spatial dimensions of the architectural field and its role in reproducing conditions of injustice. She seeks to experiment with the flexibility of story-making, creative technology, and artistic intervention and works to discover connections and possibilities between selves and worlds.

Her work has been published and exhibited at Cittadellarte Fondazione Pistoletto, Bozar, MUCEM, the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2021, Arko Art Center, Urban magazine, Funambulist magazine, Urban Omnibus. She has received the William Kinne traveling fellowship for her project Visualizing Naqab and has participated in artist residencies at AMF, Onassis AiR, and Cittadellarte Fondazione Pistoletto.

Stella holds a M.S. in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, and a Master of Architecture from Columbia GSAPP.
