Daniel Crowley

Adjunct Associate Professor

Daniel Crowley is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia GSAPP. As a tax partner in PwC’s New York asset management practice, Dan enjoys working closely with his clients in the real estate and infrastructure industries. He is motivated by solving the most complex and technical tax issues, and he brings passion to his work on global real estate funds, publicly traded REITs, real estate investors and developers and infrastructure funds.

Dan is viewed as a visionary leader whose heart is in his work. His love for tax and the people around him is contagious. He is known for inspiring professionals at every staff level to make a difference by reaching beyond the stated deliverable and finding additional value in routine work. You can typically find a team of professionals rallying around Dan to achieve team goals. Remaining calm in the most stressful situations and selfless in his approach, Dan’s work is consistent, thorough, and accurate.

Dan brings experience sharing his perspective and knowledge across a broad array of issues facing the real estate and infrastructure industries. He has written about many industry issues from open ended to tax funds to tax technology and is frequently requested as a speaker at real estate industry events. Dan is also an adjunct professor at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Dan was the innovator who brought data analytic capabilities to real estate clients to redefine and improve existing service levels on tax engagements. He can pick apart any complex situation and distill it down to an understandable and concise deliverable.

Dan earned his MBA in Taxation and Finance from Temple University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, Urban Land Institute and American Institute of CPAs.

Dan’s most challenging task starts when he arrives home where he and his wife LuAnne are raising six children.
