Anthony Borelli is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Urban Planning at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, where he teaches urban planning studios.
Mr. Borelli is Senior Vice President of Planning and Development at Edison Properties. At Edison, he leads strategic planning and entitlement efforts for high visibility development sites in New York City; Newark and Secaucus, New Jersey; and Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to joining Edison, he served as director of the Manhattan Borough President’s planning office. Under Mr. Borelli’s direction, the office developed positions on hundreds of land use proposals, prepared policy reports, and provided technical assistance to community boards. Previously, Mr. Borelli was District Manager of Community Board 4, which represents the Manhattan neighborhoods of Chelsea, Hudson Yards, and Hell’s Kitchen.
Mr. Borelli serves on the boards of the Regional Plan Association, Citizens Housing and Planning Council, Newark Alliance, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, Friends of Hudson River Park, and Hudson Square Connection (a business improvement district.) He is also a member of the Planning Committee of the Meadowlands Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Zoning and Government Affairs committees of the Real Estate Board of New York.
Mr. Borelli holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Policy Studies from Syracuse University and a Master of Science Degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University.
