Shawn Amsler is the Founder and Principal of Amsler Advisors, a real estate and hospitality advisory firm based in New York. For over 25 years, he has helped clients make informed decisions, avoid inefficiencies, maximize value, and achieve project goals.
His work includes the areas of construction management oversight, real estate development and investment, capital markets, and strategic advisory in the United States, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. His advisory clients have included developers, financial institutions, private equity funds, family offices, and non-profit organizations. His hotel and resort projects have included the Four Seasons Anguilla in the British West Indies and the Castello di Casole in Tuscany, Italy, which was recognized in 2017 by Travel+Leisure as the Best Resort Hotel in Europe.
Shawn currently serves on the adjunct faculty of Columbia GSAPP, the Fordham Real Estate Institute, and the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate, where he received the Award for Teaching Excellence in 2019. His courses have included Hotel Development and Investment, Real Estate Market Analysis, Development Process, and Global Real Estate Investment. He holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from the Pennsylvania State University.
