Carol Willis

Carol Willis is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Architecture at Columbia GSAPP where since 1989 she has taught in the program The Shape of Two Cities: New York and Paris.

Willis is the founder, director, and curator of The Skyscraper Museum in Battery Park City, New York. She is an architectural and urban historian, specializing in the history of American city building.

An architectural and urban historian, she has researched, taught, and written about the history of American cities.

Willis is an AIA book award recipient and winner of the Best Book on North American Urbanism in 1995, Willis is the author of Form Follows Finance: Skyscrapers and Skylines in New York and Chicago.

She has written introductions for publications, including Skyscraper Rivals, New York Architecture, Manhattan Skyscrapers, and New York Deco, and has made appearances on The History Channel, PBS, NPR, and BBC. Willis is the Founder, Director, and Curator of The Skyscraper Museum, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University
