Jay Yang

Jay H. Yang is President of Klyn Real Estate, LLC, which he founded in 2023 and which currently manages three residential assets in its Brooklyn, NY and Greenwich, CT core locations, totaling an estimated $10M AUM. The firm is targeting to add an additional asset by the end of 2024 and to grow the portfolio to $20 - $30M AUM over the next 4-5 years through financing and partnering. Jay also currently serves as an executive asset management and disposition consultant for Cradle Mountain Holdings, LLC / Greenbrook Properties and a regional officer at SH Holdings USA, LLC.

Previously, Jay was a vice president at Twenty Lake Holdings, LLC, a private equity family office, where he managed a 110-asset portfolio valued at $543M, with properties across the U.S. At Twenty Lake, Jay played key roles in valuation, disposition, and asset management of value added, distressed assets. Possessing specialized competencies in unique office, industrial, and retail asset classes, including tax liens/deeds assets, he has focused his efforts on executing asset purchases, sales, re-positioning properties, maximizing gross capitalization, and minimizing operating expenses.

Prior to joining Twenty Lake Holdings, Jay acted as director of corporate real estate for Digital First Media, which trails only Gannett as the nation’s largest print media conglomerate, measured in circulation. Here, he helped manage a portfolio of 6.0 million square feet of owned and leased newspaper real estate across 250 U.S. locations. He managed to dispose over 125 commercial newspaper asset transactions with $230M in gross capitalization and $70M in lease restructure, tax, and operating savings.

Before joining Digital, Jay was responsible for the underwriting analysis of commercial real estate investments at the New York City-based Signature Community Investment Group. Previously, he obtained extensive knowledge and keen perspective regarding commercial real estate transactions, investment advisory, development, asset management, research, and valuation through his time at Cushman & Wakefield and at Savills.

Jay received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Tufts University and his master’s degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia GSAPP. Currently, he is working toward an MBA through the Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Development in the School of Business at the University of Connecticut.
