Julia Murphy

Adjunct Assistant Professor

Julia Murphy is an expert in solving the physical, financial, and administrative challenges of building in New York City, and has founded multiple career development programs for women. Julia is an expert project leader and management strategist. Committed to a collaborative and inclusive view of design, she excels at large-scale projects and cultivates clarity and consensus for her clients and stakeholders, while serving as a consummate mentor and role model for women in architecture Julia has brought vision and leadership to complex large-projects, including The New York Climate Exchange on Governor’s Island, The Walt Disney Company’s new headquarters at Five Hudson Square, Citibank’s Global Headquarters repositioning, and Brookfield’s seven million square foot Manhattan West development.

Julia is a member of the Treasurer of the New York AIA Chapter, a member of the Urban Land Institute Bronze Product Council and Women Executives in Real Estate and is on the board of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation. She is a third-generation architect and lives with her family in Brooklyn.
