A New Proposal: Repair and Resolution

Imagine a world in which our resources actively support communities rather than perpetuate cycles of poverty and incarceration.

This project proposes a contrasting plan for the site of the new jail in The Bronx. Community space with facilities such as dedicated mediation rooms, which enable people to address interpersonal disputes outside of the formal legal system. Classrooms, auditoriums, and a library for gathering and learning. Daycare, sports facilities, and cafes create spaces for everyone to come and enjoy the resources provided. Canvases bridge the inside and out, providing shelter from the rain and shade in the summer. Cores of greenhouses provide direct light and views of greenery for every room.
