This urban informatics project explores the correlation between severe traffic collisions and the physical environment in New York City. To do this, we chose 50,334 intersections and examined the existing physical features within a buffered area, including land use, sidewalk width, etc. This report shows that among all factors we considered, we found evidence of the correlation between the number of bus stops and pavement conditions and severe traffic collisions. However, further research should be commanded to better understand the relationship between collisions and the rest of the factors.
