Our project seeks to address these three issues of affordability, ownership and high energy consumption in housing in Kingston. We do this by introducing three new affordable housing types that respond to the actual needs for living space, of Kingston’s struggling demographic. By investing in models of communal ownership like community land trusts to develop a greater variety of affordable and sustainable housing types, the Green New Deal can reduce emission and alleviate the growing inequality.
