Housing Inequities in Harlem: The Black Experience

Our proposal is a mobile museum that illuminates the relationship between housing inequity and activism, and histories of injustice experienced by Black and Latinx communities in Harlem. The proposal involves the recovery and interpretation of artifacts, documents, and stories drawn from preceding activists and their associated movements, and the implementation of a mobile exhibition that presents these materials. The exhibitions will travel in a fleet of mini-buses that circulate throughout Harlem, in the hopes of drawing attention from and sparking curiosity in local communities to invite them to enter the museum.
